Can I use a FR facility for a private event?
No. The FR facilities are meant for public events. Exceptions to this are sometimes there are private teambuilding events for the FR volunteers.
Are there any indoor bike parking places in Olof?
There is an indoor garage for bikes at Motgången 303, but it is only accessible for Motgången residents. There is also a place in the car parking garage when enter from Olofshöjdsgatan.
Are there any carts available to borrow when moving big stuff into/out of my apartment?
Yes, there is an unlocked cart next to the cafe Olof entrance available for the tenants to move for example bulky furniture.
I want to get my car into the Olofshöjd area for moving in/out. When are the boom gates into Olof open?
The boom gates are open the last and first 3 days of every month.
Does the rooms at Olof have a router? Where can I find a router for my room?
No, routers for the apartments are not supplied by SGS. But sometimes, if you’re lucky, the previous tenant leaves their router in the apartment for the next tenant. If you want to find a router for your room, you can try asking in the Olofshöjd’s community marketplace whatsapp group, or the Olofshöjd Facebook group. Otherwise you can buy a cheap one at for example the store called “Clas Ohlson” or “Elgiganten” (both with physical stores in central Gothenburg).
My room is very cold. Should it be like this?
In Sweden the indoor temperature cannot be lower than 18° degrees for an extended period of time. SGS’ goal is to have at least 19° degrees in all their student apartments. If you believe that the temperature in your apartment is lower than this then you could make a fault report to SGS and they will come and check. If you want to make sure before contacting SGS, then you can check the temperature with a thermometer in the middle of your room. If you don’t have a thermometer you can borrow one from SGS Customer Service.
Where can I repair my bike?
In the FR Workshop you can repair your bicycle among other things. If you cannot wait for the next opening of the Workshop there are many bike repair shops around Gothenburg, for example Cykelköket, which is a DIY workshop.
Is the cat that I always see roaming Olofshöjd homeless? Can I adopt it?
The cat is not homeless, its owners live in Olofshöjd and they appreciate if you don’t feed it and let it inside your apartments. But the cat is often more than willing to pose for one photograph or two.
